Meet the Team
Kylie
As the owner of Kylie’s K9 Country Retreat, Kylie is dedicated to creating a loving and supportive environment for dogs. She takes pride in her team and the high-quality care they provide. With a passion for Samoyeds and a love for musical theatre, Kylie brings a unique blend of skills and interests to her role. She has been breeding Samoyeds for over 30 years and is a skilled groomer.
Victoria
Victoria, Kylie’s right-hand woman, is a passionate advocate for canine well-being. She enjoys the camaraderie of her team and the satisfaction of providing top-notch care for every furry friend. With a background in veterinary nursing and hydrotherapy, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She has known Kylie for 30 years and their strong friendship is evident in their collaborative work.
Allirah
If there’s a Samoyed nearby, Allirah’s probably already cuddling it. Growing up with these fluffy clouds (and a rotating roster of little dogs claiming her bed), she’s developed a sixth sense for reading canine body language and understanding what every tail wag, ear twitch, and side-eye really means. She’s a pro at grooming double-coated breeds, sneaking tablets into treats, and giving world-class cuddles. Allirah believes every dog deserves someone in their corner , and she’s happy to be that person. When she’s off duty, she’s usually out hiking, though “hiking” is a generous term for someone who stops to photograph every bug, bird, and interesting leaf along the way. The dogs don’t seem to mind.
Donna
Donna doesn’t just care for dogs, she adores them. Every single one. She’s all about building real relationships with the pups in her care, bringing endless cuddles, treats, and the kind of attention that makes tails wag. For Donna, dogs aren’t just guests, they’re soul healers. And she makes sure every one of them knows just how loved they are.
Billie
Billie is a compassionate and skilled canine hydrotherapist and groomer. She enjoys the variety of tasks and the opportunity to work outdoors. Her experience in veterinary nursing, dog training, and animal rehabilitation allows her to provide holistic care for dogs. She believes that with patience and understanding, you can work with any animal.
Ursula
Ursula is a hardworking and dedicated kennel attendant and groomer. She appreciates the supportive team environment and the variety of tasks involved in her role. She values Kylie’s accommodating nature and support for her personal commitments. Her ability to handle anxious dogs and her quick learning curve make her a valuable asset to the team. She started working for Kylie in 2018 and was independently grooming dogs by the end of the year.
Karen
Karen is a seasoned dog groomer with a passion for making dogs feel their best. She values the camaraderie of her team and enjoys the satisfaction of seeing happy clients. Her 38 years of experience and expertise in dog grooming make her a highly skilled professional. She appreciates a good laugh and enjoys creating beautiful grooming styles.
Kerry
Kerry is an Animal Attendant who loves every dog’s different quirks and personalities, especially watching the shy ones come out of their shell and make new puppy friends. For Kerry, the best part of the job is doggy cuddles and adventures. She brings four years of experience as a pet sitter and rescue volunteer, along with a talent for pet photography. A fun fact: Kerry is also a former breeder of champion show rats!
Layla
Layla’s happy place? Right in the middle of a pack of playful pups. With a background in dog grooming and a genuine love for spending time with dogs, she makes sure every daycare guest gets the attention, care, and belly rubs they deserve.
Marie is a Kennel Attendant who finds dogs to be the purest expression of life and unconditional love, and loves working with them every day. She loves the team at Kylie’s K9 Country Retreat and its supportive culture. As a student nurse, Marie pays close attention to every animal’s physical well-being, staying alert to health concerns and reporting them to the team. She also loves staying fit, and any dog who joins her for a bushwalk or paddock play had better be ready to keep up!
Jac
Jacqueline is a kennel hand who has always wanted to work with dogs, and there’s nothing she finds more rewarding than seeing them happy and excited. Her favourite part of the job is the wonderful team she gets to work with, alongside all the overexcited (and occasionally very calm) dogs who come through each day. Jacqueline is currently studying her Vet Nurse certification, and her background as a lifeguard means she brings human first aid skills to the team as well.
Ellie is a Dog Groomer who has owned and loved dogs since she was young, and always knew she’d end up working with them. Dogs, she says, are pure joy and fun, who never ask for much in return. What she loves most is the team and the location; it’s a place that feels like home, surrounded by lovely, understanding people. Ellie brings over 10 years of experience with dogs across roles, including Veterinary Nurse, Dog Trainer, Pet Minder, and now Dog Groomer. On weekends, you’ll find her at dog sport events with her two border collies, competing in Flyball, Agility, Scentwork, and SprintDog.
