HYDROTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION

What is Hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is a form of resistance training and rehabilitation that uses the therapeutic properties of water. Here at Kylie’s K-9 Hydrotherapy, we use a specially designed treadmill encased in a glass chamber, the water temperature is maintained at therapeutic 28-30 degrees. This method of exercise can relieve pain and promote well-being while stimulating blood flow, relaxing tight muscles, and reducing pain and inflammation. As part of a rehabilitation plan, hydrotherapy can be used for; pre and post-surgery, support injuries, manage weight and increase fitness, conditioning. We also welcome clients interested in using hydrotherapy for fun and for their canine companion’s general fitness.

What is canine Massage?

At Kylie’s K9 Hydro & Rehab, our Animal Rehab Nurse, Billie Kalani, is trained in Canine Traditional Chinese Massage (Tui Na). Tui-na is an ancient Chinese form of medical massage that can have a profoundly healing effect on a range of conditions. Tui-na is a safe and effective manual therapy, with no known side effects, used for circulation, neurology, energy, and flexibility, that assists disease treatment and prevention in people and pets.

What is canine exercise and conditioning?

Canine Fitness and Conditioning is a combination of exercises and stretches tailored to your dog to improve muscle mass, strength, coordination, balance and general overall fitness and wellbeing. Great for dogs recovering from injury and unable to have free-roaming exercise, or for dogs who need more body awareness and mental stimulation.
