Kylie’s K9 Country Retreat provides a deluxe grooming service. Kylie’s experience in breeding and showing Samoyeds since 1992 means double coats are our specialty.

All grooming services include an overall skin and general health assessment. A warm, gentle bath using Australian made Plush Puppy shampoo & conditioner, towel and gentle blow dry and a spritz of doggie cologne to finish. Complimentary nail trim and ear clean if required.

Grooming falls into different categories depending on coat type.

Double Coats

Double coats are notoriously challenging and include Samoyeds, Bernese Mountain Dog and Siberian Huskies. Although they do not require clipping they do need regular removal of the undercoat to prevent matting.

Short Coats

Short coats include Chihuahuas, Kelpies, Vizslas and Boxers. While they don’t mat or tangle, they can shed significantly.

Medium Coats

Medium coats include Cavalier King Charles, Border Collies, Golden Retrievers. These dogs often have feathering on their legs and tail and can tangle and mat if not maintained regularly.

Long Haired Coats

Long haired coats include breeds that require clipping like Maltese, Cavoodles, Labradoodles and Poodles. They need regular maintenance in between clips to prevent tangles and mats and require professional grooming.

Nail clipping

Long nails can cause a number of health issues for your dog. They can even make the bones in the feet flatten and change the way a dog walks! Without regular trimming the nails become overgrown and can often get caught on furniture causing nasty accidents. Nails can also grow back into the pads causing unnecessary pain and discomfort for your dog. Meaning regular nail trims are essential.

If your dog is boarding with us, we do recommend a bath on the day of departure. Your dog will enjoy a lovely body massage, blow dry and pedicure and go home looking, smelling and feeling great after running about on the farm.

Prices vary according to the size of your dog, coat condition and style of clip. We have set a grooming services price guide based on a per hour charge. Dogs that are well maintained in between grooms and are groomed regularly will take less time and are charged accordingly.
